Crafting Connection

a Visual Identity for "de Oude Garde" Festival

The festival-entrepreneur Lobke Ruijs approached me with an inspiring challenge: to design the graphic branding for "de Oude Garde" festival. This unique event aimed to bridge the generational gap, fostering connections between individuals in their 20s-30s with their parents, the vibrant "Oude Garde" in their 50s-70s.

In this portfolio piece, I present the result of that search—an uplifting blend of summer vibes and retro charm. Through a playful interplay of typography and design elements, I sought to evoke feelings of warmth, inclusivity, and nostalgia.

The heart of the festival beat with "Generatiepraat," an engaging format igniting authentic conversations online and live during the event. Couples, representing different generations, delved into topics ranging from technology to life regrets, sparking profound exchanges that resonated throughout the festival grounds.
